Martial Arts
What is Tae Kwon Do?
Tae Kwon Do literally means “The Way of the Hand and Foot,” but is really just Korean for martial arts (its Chinese cousin is Kung Fu, while in Japan they call it Karate). Tae Kwon Do is immensely popular and has recently become an Olympic sport. Its popularity probably stems from its evolution into not merely a self-defense combat technique, but also an extreme sport, an intense fitness program, an entertaining and effective way of instilling respect and confidence in children, and finally, a philosophical way of life.
For children, Tae Kwon Do establishes safety awareness and self-defense, flexibility and fitness, plus promotes social skills, confidence and self-esteem, and respect for others. Adults enjoy the same benefits; in addition, they gain superior fitness and attain more peace of mind throughout their day. But we’re forgetting something: FUN! While we promote the traditional Tae Kwon Do qualities of healthy mind, body, and spirit, at Studio Kicks, you’ll also notice a lot of smiling faces. Our members enjoy themselves, build friendships, and celebrate one another’s accomplishments.
Fitness. Fun. Friendship. All in one place!
